Welcome to

the Boat and Table Workshop

The workshop provides a place to draw near knowing and trusting God’s simple and grounding wisdom through work with your hands, prayer, study, art, spiritual accompaniment and hospitality.

I also offer tools, toys, furniture, and nut trees for sale.

I invite you for workshop hospitality on Wednesday evenings from 4-7pm.

Enjoy a snack, conversation, praying the liturgy of the hours, reading, woodworking, boat tinkering, drawing, or just visiting. For other times, call or email ahead.

May you be drawn nearer the peace of God,

tending earth,

in compassion for others as yourself,

learning and working with your own hands.

“…And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands…”/ “καὶ φιλοτιμεῖσθαι ἡσυχάζειν καὶ πράσσειν τὰ ἴδια καὶ ἐργάζεσθαι ταῖς χερσὶν ὑμῶν,”

Workshop Theology

Evermore give us this bread!

Mr J reminds us

“Thou shalt not muzzle the ox

whilst it treads out the grain.”

Receive and give…

The Boat and Table is trying to offer practical spiritual accompaniment.

Workshop hospitality, invitations to prayer, classes and project-based learning, tree seedlings, “workshop theology,” and the monthly newsletter are all available for free or cheap!

Your financial support helps me keep the time and place open for workshop hospitality, and contemplative, practical ways ‘to build and to plant’.

Did I mention I keep dog treats on the workbench for canine visitors?
