All creation waits with eagerness…

Tomorrow is ‘Groundhog day’ in some circles, and in still others ‘Candlemas’, or the Feast of the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple.

On this day, we might turn our attention with all creation to wait with hopeful hearts for those things, seen and unseen, where the repair and healing of God’s life make themselves more known.

Celebrate with prayer, in the liturgy. Bless candles.

Go for a walk and notice the changing quality of light and shadow at the season.

And it could even be a day to watch a movie. Here is a link to a discussion guide about spiritual practice and the movie…Groundhog Day.

It’s a hilarious story of repeated opportunities to grow in spiritual and moral freedom and conduct.

For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the children of God; for the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and will obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Romans 8:19-21
